Financial Assistance

… And the Popcorn Fundraiser! 🍿

“To Help Other People At All Times…”

We know that the financial costs of Scouting may be beyond what some families can afford. But we want to allow every family to have their youth registered in Scouting, and make sure every youth has an opportunity to fully participate in our outdoor camp programs during the summer. For that reason, we have developed a standard process to help ensure that assistance is accessible to all who need it.

How Does Financial Assistance Work?

Assistance from the W. D. Boyce Council is available to help with (1) Scouting America membership registration fees, (2) council summer camp fees and (3) National Youth Leadership Training registration. It is made available through pack and troop participation in council fundraising events, such as popcorn sales, and generous donors who are committed to ensuring all youth can benefit from the Scouting movement.

Note: This assistance is NOT available for local pack or troop fees, nor for event and outing costs. We suggest working with your pack or troop leader if assistance is needed in this regard.

Parents or volunteers in need of assistance
Requests for financial assistance must be submitted to the council by the Cub Scout pack or Scouts BSA troop, not the parent or volunteer. However,  you first need to provide some basic information to the pack or troop leader.

  • Complete and print the Individual Information Form below
  • Give the completed form to your unit leader to initiate this process.

The application for NYLT scholarship assistance is available below, and should be completed by the Scout.

Unit Leaders:

  • Using the information provided by the parent or volunteer, complete either the Registration or Campership (Camp Fee) Assistance form below.
  • Units may also consider assisting with registration fees, reduced event fees and material costs.
  • To sustain our ability to provide financial assistance, all units are strongly encouraged to participate in the council’s annual fundraising efforts.
