Business and Personal Giving

Business Giving

Many businesses – not just large corporations – match employee contributions made to the Boy Scouts of America. Some companies even make financial contributions for volunteering time to Scouting. Check with your manager or HR department to see if yours does as well.

Does your business seek to make a difference in the community you call home? Consider these options:

Direct Giving

Contact Development Director Priscilla Slaughter at (309) 673-6136 to discuss how your business can support Scouting in a meaningful way, or make a one-time donation here. Endowment opportunities are also available.

Employer Matching Gifts

When a company matches an employee’s donation to a charitable or other nonprofit organization, this is referred to as a matching gift program. Businesses design such programs to show their shared support for the organizations that their employees are most passionate about. Communities and their residents especially appreciate seeing local businesses engage with local causes. Resources are available online to help you start a matching gift program for your business.

Paid Time Off and Volunteer Grants

Local companies may also recognize volunteer time through paid time off or the donation of cash grants to non-profits for which their employees volunteer. This means that for each hour of volunteer time, employers are also contributing to the support of Scouting in our community. Contact the council office at (309) 673-6136 if you would like to arrange for specific service opportunities.

Personal Giving

The W. D. Boyce Family Society

Your personal contribution to our local Scout council – at any time of the year – provides Scouters, parents, alumni, businesses, and community members with an opportunity to support the programs and facilities of the WD Boyce Council.

The true cost of Scouting is much greater than what local dues or event and camping fees cover. Yearly registration fees directly support the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America and help provide program development and research, literature and other resources. But the W. D. Boyce Family Society (formerly known as the annual Friends of Scouting campaign) gives families, individuals and businesses the opportunity to contribute directly to the W. D. Boyce Council on an annual basis.

Your generous tax-deductible gift to the W. D. Boyce Council, which provides direct funding for Scouting’s life-changing programs, is a statement about your belief in Scouting and helping young people grow into successful adults.

Please help keep Scouting strong by making an investment in our community’s future and help ensure the continued legacy of Scouting in Central Illinois.
